Magnetic Disc Data Carrier 1316

In 1962 the first data carrier, which can be changed by the user, was published.
With the disc pack 1316 it was possible for the first time to change the magnetic disks in an easy way. The physical dimensions are traditionaly specified in inches.
The size of this magnet disc amounts to 14" (Inches) whereby the magnet disc data carrier can gather and handle as many as 10 magnetic discs. Over 2 million characters could be saved. Compared against modern magnetic discs, which can save over 6 GB (GigaByte) and got a physical dimension of 0,85" (Inches) the disc pack 1316 is nothing.
